Michigan Aerospace has developed and patented a
high resolution, compact and rugged piezoelectrically based actuator,
known as a force motor, which has become an integral part of our
tunable Fabry-Perot Interferometers. These units are capable of
operation in high-vacuum cryogenic environments as well as under
normal lab conditions. These motors are designed in such a way that
they are suitable to be integrated into a design as a structural
member of an assembly and are capable of both open and closed loop
operation.
